Young artists gifts Mines View barangay with community mural

A seven-member volunteer group of young artists gifted their barangay with a “Mural ng Komunidad” mural painting through a project that inspired residents to come together.

Mines View Park barangay officials and residents joined its youth volunteers in relaunching the mural painting last Nov. 25.

Janzelle Fermin, one of the six prime movers of the project said the mural painted on a 60-meter wall located at Purok 6 is currently 80 percent complete.

She said the project was hatched with an aim “to beautify our community through art.”

“It was organized by youth volunteers who reside in Mines View Park Barangay and involves collaboration between artists, the local government unit and community members,” she said.

“So far, this mural has brought people together, fostering a sense of community and unity,” Fermin proudly declared.

Fermin said the project was not funded by any organization and some of the materials were initially bought out of their own funds.

She said the barangay helped them by providing food for the volunteer artists.

Recently, they received assistance from business establishments like Suntrust 88, Davies Paints at sa Grand Sierra Pines which donated additional materials and the various Mines View Park associations, store owners and groups and individuals that provided cash, food and material assistance for the project: Kalipi Mines View, Mines View Seniors Association, Mines View Plants Association, Mines View Farmers’ Association, Mines View St. Bernard Photo Shooting Association,

Mines View Horse Photo Shooting Association, Mines View Taho Vendors Association and Mines View Multipurpose Cooperative.
