The solon made the remark recently following the opening of the 12-bed dialysis center located at Sitio Malasin, barangay Ucab in Itogon.
Yap said Romualdez’s efforts in collaborating with regional representatives and ensuring equitable distribution of resources have not gone unnoticed and instrumental role in pushing for a better Benguet.

The Benguet lawmaker added during Typhoon Egay, Romualdez was one of the first people who checked in on Benguet. He personally visited the affected families, distributed relief packs, and provided other assistance.
“Contrary to the common notion that traditionally, the Speaker of the House can only be seen in the Plenary, we can also see him on the ground doing public service. He continues to be the lead in providing assistance to families in need, including those affected by calamities,” Yap added.
Yap further said he and Romualdez go way back from the 18th Congress and had the opportunity to work with the speakers as the Majority Leader.
“Now as the Speaker, he is continuously making sure that all the efforts of the House are strengthened so that many more families will receive assistance from the government,” Yap quipped.
Romualdez has also been supportive of the different local legislative agenda – including the renationalization of BEGH, declaration of Cordillera Day and Benguet Day as holidays, and establishment of BSU College of Medicine, among others.
“For this, we commend Speaker Romualdez that through his leadership, valuable legislations are approved and enabling mechanisms are established to uplift the lives of our kababayans,” Yap further said. ### (PR)
