UB commended for placing 43rd in Entrepreneurial Spirit

City officials recently commended the University of Baguio (UB) for placing 43rd in entrepreneurial spirit by the World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI).
In a resolution, local legislators stated that UB’s feat shows and continues to uphold the city’s title as the education capital of the north with city-based schools proving to be globally competitive in various fields of education.
WURI is an established international ranking system which aims to move away from conventional rankings that primarily emphasizes quantitative metrics associated with research and academic systems. Instead, WURI focuses on recognizing innovative programs that make a genuine difference in society.
The council claimed that this year’s rankings were meticulously organized by the International Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) of South Korea.
Further, the IPSNC received evaluation support from 4 prestigious organizations such as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), HLU, the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies based in Seoul, South Korea, and the Taylor Institute for Franklin University in Switzerland.
Six higher education institutions in the Cordillera Administrative Region have achieved remarkable recognition on a global scale.
Earlier, the WURI acknowledged the impressive performance of the said institutions across six crucial criteria.
UB, a school based in the city, ranked 54th in entrepreneurial spirit in the criteria and categories as ranked by the WURI. – Dexter A. See
