TWO DRUG PERSONALITIES BUSTED, OVER P3.8M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED

The PRO Cordillera cops have arrested two high-value drug personalities and seized a total of PhP3,898,792.00 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in the province of Benguet and Baguio City on April 25, 2024.

In Baguio City, the joint operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and Irisan Police Station 9 arrested a 28-year-old and 26-year-old, both males and residents of Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet and listed as High-Value Individuals, after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation that was conducted in Purok 14 Cypress, Brgy. Irisan, which resulted in the confiscation of ten sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 41 grams and a Standard Drug Price amounting to PhP278,800.00.

Further, in the course of their arrest, another plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing 2.95 grams with a value of PhP19,992.00 was recovered from their possession.

The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to CDEU for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violating RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being filed against the suspects.

Meanwhile, in Benguet, the operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division, PDEU, and PDEA-CAR conducted a marijuana eradication operation that resulted in the discovery of 30 kg of dried marijuana stalks with fruiting tops with an SDP of PhP3,600,000.00 at Sitio Bato, Brgy Tacadang, Kibungan.

The discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on site after proper documentation, while an ongoing investigation is being conducted to identify possible marijuana cultivators in the area. (PRO CORDILLERA PIO/File Photos)
