TWO DAYS DRUG OPS YIELDS OVER P190K ILLEGAL DRUGS

A total of Php190,064.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized, while three drug personalities were busted in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga from February 15 to 16, 2024.

Citing reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the arrested suspects were identified as 49 y/o male, listed as Street Level Individual (SLI), and resident of Tabuk City, Kalinga; 34 y/o male, listed as SLI and 22 y/o female, listed as High-Value Individual, both residents of Baguio City.

In Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga, anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Kalinga Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Tabuk City Police Station arrested the 49 y/o male after he sold one sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less (MOL) 0.3 grams with a standard drug price (SDP) of Php2,040.00 to a police operative acting as a poseur buyer. Further, in the course of his arrest, two sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing MOL 0.6 grams with an overall SDP of Php4,080.00 were also recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet, a 33 y/o male, and 22 y/o female were arrested by anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Benguet Police Provincial Office and La Trinidad Municipal Police Station after they sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing MOL 0.43 grams with an SDP of Php2,924.00 to a police operative acting as a poseur buyer. During their arrest, another sachet of suspected shabu weighing MOL 0.15 grams with an SDP of Php1,020.00 was confiscated from the possession of the 22 y/o female suspect.

All the arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the respective arresting units, while charges for violating R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were being prepared against them.

Moreover, Benguet cops also discovered and burned a total of 900 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants with an overall SDP of Php180,000.00 in separate marijuana eradication operations conducted in the municipalities of Kibungan and Bakun. (PRO CORDILLERA PIO / File photos)
