TOWARDS UNITED CORDILLERA.
The 34th Cordillera Month celebration ended with staunch optimism towards the region’s quest for regional autonomy and attaining economic recovery from the crises brought about by the current Covid19 pandemic, with Watershed and Environmental Management Committee Chair and Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Cordillera regional executive director Ralph C. Pablo (R) turning-over the symbolic hat signifying “leadership and responsibility” to the next host. As host committee for the next Cordillera Month celebration in 2022, Regional Social Development Committee chair and Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera regional director Arnel B. Garcia (L) in an online interview Friday, August 6, 2021 said he hopes to be able to brainstorm ideas to bring the traditional gong to other provinces towards a “united cordillera” and bring the spirit of cordillera volunteerism to other areas and to other regions as well. //Merriam del Rosario, FNS
