SSS La Trinidad asks employers to settle their contribution delinquencies

The Social Security System (SSS) La Trinidad branch summoned six employers during the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign last March 23 to settle their accumulated SSS contribution delinquencies worth P700,000.

Under Republic Act 11199 otherwise known as the Social Security Act of 2018, employers should report all their employees for SSS coverage, regardless of their employment status, and deduct from the salaries of employees their share in the monthly contributions. They must also pay their own share of Social Security (SS) and Employees Compensation (EC) contributions, and remit these regularly to the SSS through accredited payment channels.

Employers subjected to RACE may settle their past-due contributions by availing of the Contribution Penalty Condonation Program which offers flexible payment terms-either through a one-time payment or installments up to 48 months, depending on the delinquency amount.

Employersโ€™ compliance with the Social Security Law shall make their 23 employees become eligible for seven SS benefits such as Sickness, Maternity, Disability, Unemployment, Retirement, Death, and Funeral and loan privileges such as Salary Loan. Also, they will receive EC benefits for work-related sickness, injury, or death.
