SSS AGOO ACKNOWLEDGES EMPLOYER, MEDIA PARTNERS

Agoo, La Union – The Social Security System (SSS) Agoo Branch recognized eight employers under their jurisdiction who were consistently compliant to their legal obligations by presenting them with certificates of appreciation.
SSS Agoo gave recognition to Modalhous Inc., Allied Supermart, Sta. Monical Parish Church, Agoo Splash Town/ Agoo Resort and Development Inc.,The Coffee Library, KAYU Restaurant, Philippine College of Northwester Luzon (PCNL), and Polytechnic College of La Union (PCLU).
“These employers know the importance of fulfilling their legal obligations as far as providing social security protection to their employees,” Agoo Branch Head Roderick Andrada said during the simple awarding ceremony. “They have consistently observed the timely and accurate remittance of Social Security (SS) contributions,” he added.
Under Republic Act 11199 or Social Security Act of 2018, employers are mandated to deduct from their employees’ salaries their share in the monthly SS contributions, to pay their share of SS contributions including Employees’ Compensation (EC) and remit these to the SSS, to report to SSS their new and separated employees, and to submit to SSS necessary documents such as payroll accounts to assure continuous contribution payment.
Aside from these employers, SSS Agoo also awarded certificates of appreciation to DZAG 97.1 Radyo Pilipinas Agoo and the Philippine Information Agency- La Union for being supportive media partners.
“They have been our constant allies in providing timely and accurate information to our members and stakeholders in the area. They are always ready to hear us and echo our message to the public,” Andrada noted.
Also cited were the youth sector, a large number of whom participated in the SSS Nationwide Registration Day in July. Andrada specifically thanked the Agoo Youth Development Office and the various Sanggunian Kabataan heads, PCNL, and PCLU.
“It is high time that we recognize the proactive involvement of our stakeholders in helping ensure social security protection to their constituents, thus significantly sharing in nation building. I enjoin all other employers and organizations here in Agoo and other areas of our jurisdiction to do the same,” Andrada conluded.
SSS Agoo covers a significant portion of La Union’s second district, serving seven towns namely Agoo, Caba, Aringay, Pugo, Sto. Tomas, Rosario and Tubao. ### (PR)
