SM City Baguio Sunday Market highlights the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan program
Sa panayam kay, “SM City Baguio Assistant Mall Manager Michael Jason Peña, ”This is SM Sunday Market, we have 33 branches we are now open and offering local produce items for the local farmers and this is open from 7 AM to 2 PM every Sunday.
For the first run, we have 5 Department of Agriculture purveyors and for the 3rd run, we will also invite our Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan purveyors.
“We only invited local farmers in Baguio so, it won’t compete with the items inside the supermarket and the advantage here of the SM Sunday Market is it’s a farm the prices mas mura ito,’
“This is a joint program of SM Supermalls, SM Foundation, and SM CARES, to highlight the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan program so we will continue this program we want to accommodate many purveyors as we can,”
“Tha Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan program is the CSR of the SM Supermalls, SM Foundation and SM CARES we’re trying to equip the local farmers with the modern sustainability farming skills so they can also sustain their livelihood so, overtime magkakaroon na ng development sa farming technology through this SM Foundation,”
We would like them to sustain their farms’ lalo na ngayon ang mga farmers natin ay nagde-decrease na in numbers so, we would like to promote their items their local produce,”
“As much as possible we would like to accommodate more local farmers of Baguio and Benguet only,” pagtatapos ni Peña. # Photo by: Mario Oclaman //FNS
