SM City Baguio centerpiece lighting with Christmas Wishlist theme
BAGUIO CITY, (October 20, 2024) – The Christmas centerpiece lighting at SM City Baguio features a 35 ft Christmas Tree and 18-ft Santa Claus surrounded by giant gifts, accompanied by mesmerizing performances from the Tahanan ng Sining at Armonya, University of Baguio, UP Baguio, Music and Symphony in the School of Engineering and Architecture, and Ballet Baguio dancers. Themed “Christmas Wishlist,” the whole setup created unforgettable memories and got shoppers in the holiday spirit. The event’s lively vibe made everything feel festive and magical, kicking off a joyful season at SM Supermalls for everyone to enjoy.
In a message from SM City Baguio Mall Manager John Philip Baysac, “As we gather today to celebrate the launch of our enchanting Christmas centerpiece, let reflect the true meaning of this season. Christmas is more than just a day marked on the calendar; it is a beautiful reminder of love, hope, and the joy that comes from giving.
During this bustling season, we hope that SM City Baguio is more than just your favorite place to shop; may we be a place of joy for everyone who walks through our doors. Here, you can share new experiences with friends, enjoy a delicious meal to nourish your spirit, or simply be in a space to unwind and forget the stresses of daily life. SM City Baguio embodies inclusivity, a place where family and friends come together, to celebrate what truly matters.
As we enjoy the twinkling lights and splendid décor, remember we are not just celebrating a season, but the spirit of togetherness it brings. May we continue to be your sanctuary of joy and acceptance, a warm haven for you and your loved ones to make memories by,”
Also gracing the event to give a message of welcome and support were the SM City Baguio Assistant Mall Manager Michael Jason N. Peña and the Honorable City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong.
Mr. Peña also expounds to share something special that reflects the true spirit of the season.
“SM Supermalls is excited to bring back the heartwarming SM Bears of Joy project. This Christmas, let’s make the season even brighter for children in need. With every bear joy you buy, you’re not just giving a gift: you’re also donating a bear to a pre-chosen charity. It’s a beautiful way to spread joy and warmth, embodying the essence of giving.
“As we celebrate the unveiling of our Christmas centerpiece, let’s also embrace the joy of giving.
“Join us in making this holiday season memorable for every child, one bear at a time. Thank you, and let’s fill this season with love and cheer!” Peña said.
The mayor emphasized that Christmas is approaching, in his message.
“Christmas has always held a special place in our hearts. It is a time when we come together with family, friends, and our community to celebrate the joys of life and the spirit of giving. Despite the challenges we face, there is still much to be grateful for.
And today, 66 days before Christmas, SM City Baguio, together with our partners in the tourism and hospitality industries, performing and creative arts communities, schools and universities in the City, and my co-public servants from the Baguio City government, enjoin everyone to experience the joy of the holiday season in a way that brings us back to the true meaning of Christmas.
“Christmas is not just about the gifts we give or receive, but about opening our hearts to kindness, compassion, and generosity. It is about celebrating life’s simple blessings- sharing a meal with our family, watching the smiles of our children as they see the holiday lights, or coming together as a community in events like this, these are the moments that define the magic of Christmas.
As we look around and marvel at the beautiful displays, may we be inspired to spread joy to others, especially to those in need.
“Thank you SM City Baguio family for this annual tradition that brings the people of our city together, lighting up our spirits and making the season even more special.
“May this beautiful centerpiece be a symbol of hope, joy, and the enduring spirit of unity that defines Baguio. May we all experience the joy of the holiday season with open hearts, filled with gratitude and love, as we look forward to a brighter and more prosperous year ahead.
“Advanced Merry Christmas to all, and may you have a blessed and joyful holiday season,” the Mayor concluded.
