Senior citizens vaccination statistics

The remaining unvaccinated senior citizens in the city are urged to be immunized as protection for themselves and their families.

Medical authorities including Health Services Office head Dr. Rowena Galpo and City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit head Dr. Donabel Tubera-Panes made the pronouncement on several occasions. Mayor Benjamin Magalong also encouraged the elderlies to be vaccinated through the mobile vaccination team which went to homes of immobilized              

Senior citizens (SC) in the city have a population of 32,108.

This was part of Dr. Galpo’s report wherein 27,579 or 85.9% were fully vaccinated with the one dose J and J brand, or two doses of Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Moderna or Gamaleya. There are partially vaccinated 2,228 (6.9%) SCs, and are currently awaiting their second dose.

The remaining 2,302 (7.2%) unvaccinated senior citizens are being searched out in the barangays. A report shows that Irisan, Camp 7, Bakakeng barangay, Loakan proper, Asin road, Pinget, Sto. Tomas proper, San Luis Village, Dontogan, Pinsao proper, Pacdal have at least 50 to 190 unvaccinated elderlies in their respective barangays.

In San Vicente, Pinsao Pilot, Fairview, Kias, St. Joseph Village, Gibraltar, Dominican-Mirador, Loakan-Liwanag, Middle Quezon Hill, P. Burgos, East Quirino hill, Brookside, Loakan Apugan, Poliwes and Upper Quezon Hill, there are at least 20 to 42 unvaccinated SCs.

The rest of the barangays have at least one to 19 unvaccinated elderlies, and at least 174 residing outside of the city. – Julie G. Fianza
