Sen. Imee Marcos distributes educational aid to 2000 students in Quirino
DIFFUN, Quirino– Senator Imee Marcos led the Distribution of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Dept. of Social Welfare and Development to 2000 students in Diffun and Maddela, towns of Quirino province on Oct. 17.
In Diffun, the parents of 1000 senior high school students of Diffun National High School; Bannawag Integrated School; San Antonio Integrated School; Magsaysay National High School; and Ifugao Village Integrated School received PhP3,000.00 cash, each. While in Maddela, the same amount was received by the students, also in the senior high school of Maddela Comprehensive High School.
Meanwhile, in an ambush interview, the Senator said there is no need to create a law to ensure the operations of Kadiwa stores in the country.
“May Kadiwa na sa budget. So, in effect, kahit walang batas, permanente na siya unless tanggalin sa budget.”
Kadiwa store is a government marketing strategy that connects food producers and consumers directly, lowering the cost of products. It started during the stint of Pres. Duterte and Undersecretary William Dar.
“Iyong mga byahero kung ano na lang ang presyo, iyon na lang ang ibabayad sa mga magsasaka. So, it is very important na magkaroon tayo ng Kadiwa para tulungang ibaba ang mga ani natin sa mga siyudad.”
There are already 627 Kadiwa stores nationwide plus pop-ups and mobile stores.# Photos by Mae Barangan
