Registry of Deeds contributes funds to city coffers

The Office of the Register of Deeds contributed locally generated funds to the coffers of the city government through the collection of transfer taxes and registration fees.

In a report, the said office stated that in terms of transfer tax, some PhP74.4 million was already generated and paid to the city coffers from to date.

Further, in terms of registration fees, some PhP89.6 million was already generated by the office and subsequently paid to the city government during the same period.

The Office of the Register of Deeds stated that it has been steadfast in delivering its function within a period of six months from December 2023 to April 2024.

In December last year, the office received some 847 requests for certified true copies of titles where 846 were subsequently recorded. In April 2024, the office received some 1,212 requests for certified true copies of titles where 1,197 were said to be recorded.

In terms of chattel mortgages, the office received some 205 documents where 203 were successfully recorded.

Last month, the office received some 283 chattel mortgages where some 284 were said to be recorded.

On registered land, the office received some 429 requests for registration where 468 were recorded in December 2023.

In April this year, the office reported that it received some 515 requests for registration of land where some 470 requests were duly recorded.

In terms of unregistered land, the office received some 37 requests where 44 were recorded in December last year.

Last month, the office received 43 similar requests in relation to unregistered land where 20 were recorded during the said period. – Dexter A. See
