Regional Committee Meeting on Police Operations, Anti-illegal Drugs, and EMPO
The 41st Regional Committee Meeting on Police Operations, Anti-illegal Drugs, and Enhanced Managing Police Operation (EMPO) was held at the PRO Cordillera Conference Room, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on January 19, 2024.
The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Regional Director for Operations, PCOL ELMER E RAGAY, and was physically attended by the Chief of the Regional Operations Division, PCOL JEREMIAS G OYAWON; the Chief of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, PCOL JAMES D MANGILI; the Regional Chief of SOU-14 PNP Drug Enforcement Group, PCOL JOEL E ESTARIS; the Regional Chief of the Civil Security Group, PCOL EDWARD S AQUINTEY; the Regional Chief of Forensic Unit, PCOL MARITES B VILLA CARLOS; the Chief of the Regional Public Information Office, PLTCOL CAROLINA F LACUATA; the Deputy Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division, PLTCOL NIXON L LAOYAN; the Deputy Chief of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division, PLTCOL PELITA P TACIO; and the Deputy Chief of the Regional Legal Office, PMAJ AILEEN S BUGNOSEN.
Meanwhile, the Deputy City Director for Operations of the Baguio City Police Office, and the DPDOs of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO), Kalinga PPO, Benguet PPO, and Mountain Province PPO, attended through an online conferencing platform.
During the meeting, the attendees presented their respective agendas. Topics covered included the operational accomplishments, accomplishments on most wanted persons, crime environment per PPOs/CPO, under-investigation cases on 8 focus crimes covering the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023, and rules on the chain of custody of evidence.
Also discussed were the actionable items during the previous EMPO meeting, updates on the significant incidents under investigation, and other issues and concerns.
In his guidance, PCOL RAGAY reiterated the guidance of TADCO, emphasizing the following: Relentless War on Illegal drugs, Stand Firm against Criminality and other Threats, Intensify Campaign against Cyber Related-Crimes, Evaluated Lessons learned in CY 2023, and Aim for Excellence.
Further, he thanked all the attendees for joining the meeting and urged them to continue to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and loose firearms and monitor the implementation of anti-illegal drug activities in their areas of responsibility.
