Rate of fully vaccinated adolescents, adults up

From the city’s adolescent population pegged at 42,811; 42.94 % or 18,386 received their second dose at the megasites, district, satellite and community vaccination sites a month and a week from its ceremonial jabbing launch.

Health workers have jabbed at least 28,733 or 67.11% for their first dose, as of Dec. 9.

According to City Health Services Offices head Dr. Rowena Galpo, immunity for the teen-agers may be achieved by mid-January 2022, due to the slow turn-out of vaccinees. Thus, calls are issued for unvaccinated adolescents, 12 to 17 years old to register at bakuna.baguio.gov.ph and line up for jabs at any of the vaccination sites.

The megasites are open up to National Vaccination Days, Part II, Dec, 15, 16 and 17 up to Dec. 22, but health workers at satellite and community sites continue to jab vaccinees up to the end of December, Dr. Galpo said.

For fully dosed adults, vaccination rate has reached 86.16% or 242,137 of the eligible population of 281,000, those first-dosed at 98.78% or 277,584; with at least 36,000 awaiting their second dose.

As of said date, 11,119 from all the priority groups have received their booster shots. Calls are issued for the health workers, senior citizens, adults with comorbidities, essential workers, indigent population and rest of the population to receive their booster shots six months after their second dose of either Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Gamaleya. They may be advised by health workers to receive homologous or heterologous vaccine doses.
