Public urged to patronized community library services
The City Library urged the public to patronize the various services offered by the community library following the relaxation of the prevailing community quarantine restrictions.
City librarian Easter Pablo stated that individuals frequenting the facility are increasing because of the easing up of the restrictions for them to be able to avail of the various services offered by the community library.
She disclosed that prior to the ongoing Corona Virus Disease (COVID) 2019 pandemic, there were more than 200 individuals that visited the city library but the same drastically dropped because of the implementation of the minimum public health standards.
However, the city librarian stipulated that since the easing up of the community quarantine restrictions, the number of individuals visiting the library started to increase to more than 100 daily where the highest number of daily visitors was 195.
According to her, during the pandemic, the number of daily library visitors was limited to less than 100 individuals because of the strict implementation of the minimum public health standards to prevent the spread of the virus that might trigger surges in cases in the future.
Pablo emphasized that individuals visiting the city library must wear their face masks when inside the facility and for them to observe physical distancing as part of their compliance to the ongoing implementation of the minimum public health standards.
Pablo said that the library visitors will surely increase in the coming months with the upcoming implementation of the face to face classes in public schools when classes for school year 2022-2023 will open by August 22, 2022.
She explained that with the assistance of the 4 volunteers, the existing personnel of the city library will be able to cater to the needs of the daily visitors for them to be able to enjoy their stay in the facility. – Dexter A. See
