PRRD approves 1k public teachers’ incentive

QUEZON CITY –  (August 10, 2021) – (PIA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) announced Tuesday, August 10, President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval to release the World Teachers’ Day Incentive amounting to P1,000 per public school teacher.

Introduced under the leadership of Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, “the grant of WTDIB recognizes the vital role of our educators in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, especially in ensuring the continuity of learning,” the statement reads.

The WTDIB has a budget of P910 million to benefit around 900,000 public school teachers nationwide.

DepEd shall issue corresponding guidelines on the grant of the said cash incentive soon. (MTQ/PIA-IDPD with information from DepEd)
