Project AMORsolo PINOY LUG exhibit open in SM City Baguio until August 26
Baguio City – (August 20, 2022) – The Project AMORsolo led by Leslie Araujo – president and Lego Ambassador Network showed the unique and original creation concept of Pinoy LUG transposing three great works of Fernando Amorsolo into remarkable masterpieces in LEGO bricks mosaic art held at Atrium, SM City Baguio.
In a message from mall manager Rona Vida Correa, she said,”Another work of art here at SM City Baguio thru the works of Pinoy LUG. This project contributes to our mission of being a champion of art and culture preservation. Pinoy LUG’s works which transpose and portray the historical masterpieces of the Philippines’ first National Artist – Fernando Cuelo Amorsolo, relives his legacy and contribution to our history which the younger generation deserves to also learn and understand.
Indeed, the advent of modern innovations helps us in our advocacy for arts and culture. Thus, PinoyLUG’s ingenious pieces of transposing Amorsolo’s works using Legos help us reach out to the youth more. We thank the team for sharing these to the Cordilleran community to experience as well, especially now as the new academic year opens our students can witness these art pieces.

Araujo said,” the Project Amorsolo is blessed by Fernando Cuelo Amorsolo Foundation and in partnership with the local distributor of Lego, this was done during the 50th year this 2022 the first national artist which is Fernando Amorsolo, “Looking at the brick mosaics of Amorsolo’s ‘Early Traders,’ ‘Dalagang Bukid,’ and ‘Bayanihan,”
“Project Amorsolo is a story of love and resilience in a family of Lego fans looking towards future generations who would create something new from the pieces of their past.
It is a celebration of achievement through dedication, persistence, sharing, and building together which are the guiding principles of Pinoy LUG,”
Ipinaliwanag ni Araujo kung paano nabuo ang tatlong brick mosaics.
“Ang bawat frame na lego mosaics ay may kanya-kanyang grupo na gumawa tulad ng Dalagang Bukid nagkasundo lahat ng members namin na babae na lahat ay puro babae lang ang gumawa nun nagsanib pwersa sila na mga nasa 30 artist ang gumawa diyan, dito naman sa “Bayanihan” through to it the title sila kaagad yun unang nakatapos dahil sa pagtutulungan nila it took as over a year nila ginawa ito, imagine kung may 30 members at magbigay ako ng pattern, pagkabigay ng pattern supposedly hindi nila alam kung ano ang mabubuo,
“Ang sarili kong theme ay Project Amor, means love so, ang nangyari dun sa 30 members na binigyan ko ng pattern hindi nila alam yun mangyayari, oorder sila meron akong in-assign na mag order magbayad sila tapos bubuuin so, imagine yun hirap during the pandemic lahat ng delayed at pag dumating paghihiwalayin medyo mabusisi rin talaga so, once nabuo na nila iga-gather uli yun, maganda nangyari dito we use technology by communication hindi lang natin na modernized yun mga lumang painting pero ginamitan natin ng science at technology like for this one lahat ng portrait may sariling QR code para dito mo na malaman kung ano ang mga detalye nito, ito ang binibigay natin na may introduction at work for the past to the present kasi karamihan ng iba hindi nila kilala si Amorsolo,”
Bakit nga ba Amorsolo? Kasi si Lego very fun loving siya, nata-translate siya sa pinapakita ni Lego na si Amorsolo ay ipinapakita yun ganda ng Pilipinas wala siyang masyadong mga violent or passionate na mga interpretations siya karamihan most are artwork na pinapakita kung paano mamuhay ang Filipino at kung gaano karami yun mai-share natin sa mundo na para sa mga malikhain nating mga Filipinong artist,”
