PROCOR to mobilize personnel for infodemic drive
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – To deliver useful and relevant information on COVID-19 prevention and control, Cordillera cops had attended an Infodemic Drive dubbed as “Corona virus Awareness Response and Empowerment” (C.A.R.E.) at PROCOR Log Cabin, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on December 22-23, 2020.
The program was graced by PBGEN RHODEL O SERMONIA, Acting Director of the Police Community Relations of PNP.
A total of 56 PROCOR Cops from the different Police Provincial Offices (PPOs) and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) participated in the program.
The C.A.R.E. Infodemic Drive training aims to strengthen PNP’s capability in delivering timely and useful information to prevent the spread of COVID-19. After the training, participating personnel will conduct cascading activities in their respective PPOs and CPO to empower the police frontliners on the ground.
One of the flagship projects of the Chief PNP, PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, aside from the primary objective of disseminating information on COVID-19, C.A.R.E program will also mandate personnel to help in providing trauma care & assistance in partnership with the LGU. Physical fitness activities will also be promoted under the program.
In a statement, PBGEN SERMONIA said, “this C.A.R.E. infodemic drive will also serve as a template for future information campaigns to be instituted by the Philippine National Police nationwide such as information on ELCAC, illegal drugs, terrorism among others. It is a program that will help empower our communities particularly on deciding the best future for their communities through the support of the government like their Philippine National Police in the Cordillera Region.” (PROCOR PIO)
