PROCOR joined the commemoration of Mt. DATA Peace Accord
The men and women of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) joined the 36th Commemoration of 1986 Mt. Data Peace Accord.
In a program held at Mt. Data Hotel, Bauko, Mt. Province on September 13, 2022, PROCOR was represented by PBGEN JOHN CAYABAN CHUA, PROCOR Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA).
The activity was spearheaded by the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) headed by Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and was attended by key personalities in the Region like Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan of Mt. Province; Governor James Edduba of Kalinga; members of Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA); representatives from various National Government Agencies and local officials of the different provinces in the Cordillera Region.
With the theme “Kapia ken Pagkaykaysa Agturong iti Autonomiya ti Kordilyera (Peace and Unity Towards Autonomy and Sustainable Development)” the activity was highlighted with the signing of a peace agreement for the settlement of tribal boundary dispute between Butbut, Tinglayan, Kalinga and Betwagan, Sadanga, Mt. Province.
The activity was in commemoration of the peace agreement between the national government and the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA) on September 13, 1986, which led to the issuance of Executive Order No. 220 on July 15, 1987, which created the Cordillera Administrative Region.
