PRO CORDILLERA JOINS 2023 BSKE MULTI-AGENCY SEND-OFF AND TURNOVER CEREMONY
The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO Cordillera) together with other concerned government agencies joined the 2023 BSKE Multi-Agency Send-off and Turnover Ceremony of Government Forces and Resources” held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on October 23, 2023.
The ceremony was hosted by PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., and was graced by the Commission on Elections-CAR Regional Election Director, Atty. Julius D. Torres; the Commander of the 503rd Bde 5ID, Philippine Army, BGEN SANTIAGO I ENGINCO; and Regional Director, DepEd-CAR, Dir. Estela P. Leon-Cariño, EdD, CESO III.
Present during the ceremony were other members of the PRO Cordillera command group; the Commander of the 501st IBde, BGEN FERDINAND MELCHOR C DELA CRUZ; Asst. Regional Election Director of COMELEC-CAR, Atty. Vanessa M Roncal; Regional Staff; Special Staff; Chiefs of the Regional Support Units; the Provincial Election Officers from the different provinces and cities in Cordillera; other PRO Cordillera personnel; partner agencies and stakeholders.
As a highlight of the ceremony, 6,141 police officers from PRO Cordillera and Regional Support Units, 14,912 teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education- CAR, and 853 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines were turned over to the COMELEC-CAR received by its Regional Election Director, Atty.Torres.
Subsequently, PRO Cordillera Regional Pastoral Officer, PMAJ (Rev. Father) ALEXANDER V PARDO and Pastor Gabriel Franciso led the blessing of all deployable members of the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) and the equipment and vehicles.
In his send-off message, PBGEN PEREDO JR. said, “The people of Cordillera need our services to have a violence-free election. Let us assure them of the security of the sanctity of their votes and their safety in this entire period. So, as you are deployed to your respective areas of election duty, do not loosen your guard, stay vigilant, and be reminded to be apolitical as well as maintain discipline, professionalism, and respect for human rights as you perform your sworn duties in the whole duration of these elections”.
Further, Atty. Torres in his guidance appealed to the PNP, the AFP, and, all other law enforcement agencies to protect the voters, and the poll workers and ensure their safety of each other. (PRO CORDILLERA-PIO / File Photos)
