PRO CORDILLERA COMMEMORATES THE 76TH INTERNATIONAL DAY OF UN PEACEKEEPERS

Paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of peacekeepers and the resilience of the communities they serve, the men and women of Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera commemorated the 76th International Day of United Nations (UN) Peacekeepers in a program held at the PRO Cordillera Multi-purpose Center, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on May 29, 2024.

With the theme: “Fit for the Future, Building Better Together,” the event was led by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, together with the UN Peacekeepers of PRO Cordillera and other PRO Cordillera personnel.

As a highlight of the program, an audio-visual presentation was shown as a tribute to the PNP UN Peacekeepers followed by an inspirational message delivered by the Deputy Regional Director for Operations, PCOL ELMER E RAGAY, who is a former Senior PNP UN Peacekeeper.

In his message, PCOL RAGAY encouraged everyone, especially those who are still on the mission as well as those who are planning to be deployed as UN Peacekeepers, to equip themselves with new skills, embrace cutting-edge technologies, and strengthen partnerships, so that they can adapt to the transforming conflicts that they may face while maintaining peace & security worldwide.

“The path to peace is not an easy one, but with determination, innovation, and unity, we can overcome the challenges ahead. Let us continue to strive for a world where peace and justice prevail, and where the efforts of our peacekeepers bring hope and stability to those in need,” he added.
