PRO-CAR’s DAY-LONG DRUG OPS YIELD OVER P1.6-M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS

In a series of coordinated anti-illegal drugs operations, the PRO-CAR cops successfully seized PhP1,687,720.00 worth of illegal drugs and apprehended a drug personality in the provinces of Kalinga, Ifugao, and Benguet on September 10, 2024.

In Tinglayan, Kalinga, a marijuana eradication operation conducted by joint operatives of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Kalinga led to the discovery and destruction of approximately 8,000 fully grown marijuana plants, estimated to be worth PhP1,600,000.00.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Poblacion West, Lamut, Ifugao, operatives from the different units of Ifugao PPO, Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit Cordillera Administrative Region, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), and PDEA Ifugao seized three sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 11.5 grams with a Standard Drug Price of PhP78,200.00

In a separate operation in Benguet, a 23-year-old male listed as Street Level Individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Pico, La Trinidad.

Reports disclosed that operatives from the different units of Benguet PPO, RID, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and PDEA-CAR arrested him after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing 1 gram with a SDP of PhP6,800.00 to a poseur buyer. Also, during the arrest, authorities recovered an additional sachet of shabu weighing 0.4 grams with an SDP of PhP2,720.00 from the suspect’s possession.

The seized pieces of evidence were brought to La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for proper disposition, while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect.
