PRO CAR’s ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUGS OPS YIELDS COPS OVER P2.2M WORTH OF MARIJUANA PLANTS IN BENGUET AND KALINGA

The anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) eradicated more than 11,000 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) with a total worth of PhP2,240,000.00 in separate operations conducted in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga on March 9, 2025.

In Benguet, 7,200 FGMJP with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,440,000.00 1,440,000.00 were discovered in two marijuana plantation sites in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun, and Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan by the joint operatives of 1st and 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS) of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR).

Another marijuana plantation site was discovered containing 4,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of PhP800,000.00 in Brgy. Liwan West, Rizal, Kalinga by the joint operatives of 1st Kalinga PMFC of Kalinga PPO and PDEA-Kalinga.

All the discovered marijuana plants were documented and burned onsite while enough samples were taken for submission at the Regional Forensic Unit for qualitative tests. Moreover, PRO CAR is currently conducting investigations to locate other marijuana plantation sites and apprehend those responsible for cultivation.
