PRO-CAR Cops Eradicate Over P2.6M Worth of Marijuana Plants in Benguet and Kalinga

The anti-illegal drug operatives of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) destroyed marijuana plants worth PhP2,646,000.00 in a series of marijuana eradication operations conducted in the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet on January 15, 2025.

In Benguet, five marijuana plantation sites planted with a total of 7,230 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP1,446,000.00 were discovered in the municipalities of Bakun, Kibungan, and Kapangan by the joint forces of Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Kibungan MPS, Kapangan MPS, 1st and 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs), Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Benguet Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Meanwhile, in Kalinga, a marijuana plantation site planted with 6,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of PhP1,200,000.00 was discovered in Tinglayan by the joint operatives of Tinglayan MPS, 1st and 2nd Kalinga PMFCs, RMFB15, and PDEA-CAR.

All discovered marijuana plants were thoroughly documented and incinerated on-site, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Additionally, the operatives are actively conducting investigations to identify other potential marijuana cultivation sites in the surrounding areas and to locate individuals involved in the cultivation activities.
