Police, volunteers ready for Undas 2022
A total of 668 police personnel and force multipliers to be deployed in public and private cemeteries, tourist destinations, bus terminals, malls and public market, traffic and police assistance centers in the city to ensure the safe and orderly observance of All Saint’s Day.
The Baguio City Police Office will be deploying 317 of its personnel to be augmented by 349 force multipliers, according to BCPO Tactical Operations Chief Lt. Col. Domingo Gambican.
He said these personnel will be deployed from October 29 to November 2, 2022 with the expected influx of visitors due to the long weekend.
Medical personnel and emergency volunteers will also be positioned in public and private cemeteries during the long weekend.
“There will be no rerouting of traffic anymore since there are a lot of construction works ongoing but police personnel will be dispatched to help direct traffic as well as implement the drop and go policy along access routes in the different private and public cemeteries,” Gambican explained.
He added the BCPO is ready with its evacuation plan in case of emergency in close coordination with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the City Health Services Office – Emergency Medical Service.
Earlier, the city government announced that public cemeteries in Baguio City will be closed on Nov. 1 except for sponsored church services.
Visiting tombs of departed loved ones was scheduled per district beginning October 23 to Nov.5, 2022 (except Nov.1) to ensure proper crowd management and avoid traffic.

Oct. 24 (Monday) – districts 1, 2, 17, 18;
Oct. 25 (Tuesday) – districts 4, 5, 6, 16;
Oct. 26 (Wednesday) districts 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12;
Oct. 27 (Thursday) districts 3, 13, 14, 19, 20;
Oct. 28 (Friday) districts 3, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20;
Oct. 29 (Saturday) districts 1, 2, 4, 5;
Oct. 30 (Sunday) districts 6, 7, 8, 9, 16;
Oct. 31 (Monday) districts 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
Nov. 1 (Tuesday) – sponsored church services only; kindly visit the City Environment and Parks Management Office for scheduling
Nov. 2 (Wednesday) – districts 3, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20;

Those coming from nearby areas particularly La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tublay and Tuba as well as all non-residents of Baguio may visit their departed any day except on November 1.
The city also reminds the public not to bring prohibited materials inside the cemeteries such as liquor, firearms and pointed objects, flammable materials, gambling materials and loud speakers.
Vending and vendors are also prohibited inside public cemeteries. – JMPS
