PHP3.46M worth Marijuana plants discovered in Benguet
A total of Php 3,460,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were discovered by Benguet cops during a 2-day marijuana eradication operation conducted in the mountains of Brgy Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet from October 26 to 27, 2021.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, during the operation, joint operatives of Bakun MPS, PIU, and PDEU were able to discover a total of five (5) marijuana plantation sites from three (3) Sitios in Brgy Kayapa.
In Sitio Patong, operatives discovered 1,200 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 240,000.00 cultivated in a land area of 300 square meters.
In Sitio Palicdan, three (3) sites were found by the operatives wherein they discovered a total of 2,900 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 580,000.00 cultivated in a total of 650 square meters land area and dried marijuana stalks weighing more or less 2,000 grams with SDP of Php 240,000.00
Moreover, in Sitio Beey-Langew, another plantation site was found planted with 12,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with SDP of Php 2,400,000.00 cultivated in a land area of 3,000 square meters.
All marijuana plants and dried marijuana stalks discovered were uprooted and burned on-site by the operating units. Further, investigation is ongoing to identify possible cultivators. (PROCOR-PIO)
