PH Army’s 5ID expects new commander to sign assumption orders

SAN MATEO, Isabela– The 5th Infantry “Star” Division of the Philippine Army (5ID, PA) based in Brgy. Upi, Gamu, and Isabela are expected to welcome its new commander, BGen. Gulliver Lapitan Señires on June 28, the change of command to be held at Tala Hall.
BGen. Señires who got his star rank on June 22, 2023, will replace MGen. Audrey L. Pasia, the 5ID commander since Sept. 5, 2022.
The change of command will be presided over by LtGen. Roy M Galido, commanding general of the Philippine Army.
BGen. Señires finished his military course in the Phil. Military Academy and belonged to “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class ‘92. He bagged the silver award for graduating with a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.13 for his Master’s Degree in National Security Administration (MNSA) Regular Course 53 and a bronze medal for the master’s thesis entitled ‘Localized Peace Process: Towards Creating a Geographically-adoptive, Mass-based Indigenous Transition Model’, setting a record as the only graduate in his batch who excellently got two awards in separate categories.
His previous notable assignments were: 50th Infantry Batallion in-charge of internal security operations in Kalinga Province and two Municipalities South of Apayao Province; Civil Military Operations officer of the 303rd Infantry Brigade in Murcia, Negros Occidental; and the present 23rd Commander of the 702nd Infantry (Defender) Brigade of the 7th Infantry Division.# Mae Barangan
