Permits and Licensing office recognized

City officials recently congratulated and commended the Permits and Licensing Division (PLD) under the City Mayor’s Office for its compliance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient government Delivery Act of 2018 for the months of January to March 2024.

In a resolution, local legislators stated that in recognition of their unwavering commitment and teamwork during the conduct of renewal and processing of business permits for the months of January to march this year at the SM satellite business one-stop shop, the aforesaid commendation is being given.

The council underscored that public service is a public trust, requiring a person or an office to pledge loyalty to the Constitution, the laws, and ethical principles above private gain.

Further, the body claimed that the PLD personnel’s exemplary performance had provided prompt service to the convenience of the city’s entrepreneurs during the months of January to march this year through their program Business One-stop Shop Office at the SM City Baguio in compliance with the pertinent provisions of RA 11032.

The council added that the polite quality service extended to the public by the PLD through the leadership of Allal B. Abayao is worthy of commendation and public emulation of a genuine public service for the benefit of the greater majority of the populace.

Under the pertinent provisions of RA 7160 or the Local Government Code of the Philippines, local government units are mandated to process the renewal and new business permits annually, particularly right at the start of the year, particularly in January to ensure that businesses will be able to secure their requisite permits prior to their operations.

Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the PLD for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. – Dexter A. See
