Pasig readies distribution of ayuda, food packs.

PASIG CITY, (PIA ) – (August 10, 2021) — Pasig City is preparing the release of financial aid and food packs for residents affected by the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila due to COVID-19.
On Monday, Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government is preparing for the distribution of financial aid. A total of P650 million was downloaded to Pasig City from the national government.
“Target beneficiaries para sa (for) cash aid mula sa nasyonal (from the national). Expanded DSWD pockets of poverty – expanded, ibig sabihin kasama yung mga lugar na na-feedback nung April 2021 na dapat makasama dahil marami din nangangailangan (this means more areas were included, those we provided our feedback that more were in need),” Sotto explained on his Facebook page.
With Joint Memorandum Circular guidelines available, the cash aid is set to be distributed starting Wednesday, August 11.
“Ngunit hindi po talaga mabibigyan lahat, (lalo na yung mga sector-based na nakasali nuon). Note: P650M lang ngayon, nung huling ECQ P680M ang naibaba sa atin (Not everyone will be included as beneficiary, especially the sector-based who were included before. Note: from the previous ECQ of P680M it is now down to P650M downloaded to us),” the local chief executive further explained.
Aside from the cash aid, the city government has also prepared 260,000 pieces of food packs.
“Bago pa man dumating ang tulong mula sa nasyonal, nakapag order na rin ang LGU ng 260,000 GROCERY FOOD PACKS. Para sa mga nangangailangan din pero hindi makakatanggap ng Cash, bibigyan natin sila ng Grocery Pack.” (Even before the national government’s aid, our LGU was able to order 260,000 grocery food packs for those in need but won’t get cash aid.)
The local chief executive also urged residents to always prepare their PasigPass QR code.
“Mag-antay lang po sa bahay. Bababa ang mga team para magbigay ng instructions. Handa dapat ang PasigPass QR code. Dahil ECQ, makakatanggap lamang ang mga pamilyang kasalukuyang nasa Pasig.” (Please wait and stay at home. Out teams will be going to you to give instructions. Please prepare your PasigPass QR code. Because it’s ECQ, those families who are here would be the ones to receive.)
Sotto also assured that the city government will fast-track the distribution of cash aid.
“Kung walang aberya, kakayanin natin ang 95% completion sa loob ng 14 araw (If there are no hassles, we can achieve 95% completion within 14 days).” (Pasig City/PIA-NCR)
