Palanan Police provides security to lawyers in legal aid; outreach program in Dumagat Village

Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City – Personnel of Palanan Police Station led by the Chief of Police, Maj. Jose B. Torrijos provided security to the Governor of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Northern Luzon Region, Atty. Minerva R. Magtanao-Taguinod and Director III of Legislative Debate Reporters Service of Senate of the Philippines and representative of Senate Employees Multi-purpose Cooperative (SEMCO), Atty. Antonette B. Cordero together with IBP-Isabela Chapter, Vice President Atty. Jonathan Valiente and members, Atty. Angelito Ramirez and Atty. Rod Peterson Ignacio when they conducted free legal aid and gift-giving at Dumagat Village, Brgy. Culasi, Palanan, Isabela on July 20, 2023.

Through proper coordination, the lawyers were immediately secured upon arrival at Palanan Airport on July 19, 2023. On the following day, the same personnel participated in the outreach program held at Dumagat Village in Brgy. Culasi. More or less 300 Dumagats, young and adult received slippers and canned goods.

Maj. Torrijos also provided overnight accommodation to Atty. Taguinod, Atty. Cordero and Mae Barangan, book author and publisher of Northern Sun Newsmagazine.

Police Major Torrijos thanked the lawyers for giving them the opportunity to serve and protect. 

On the other hand, Atty. Taguinod said the PNP’s efforts to provide security and desire to help their team to identify an area that is appropriate to conduct legal aid and outreach program contributed success to their objective. # Mae Barangan
