P6.2-M MARIJUANA PLANTS BURNED; DRUG SUSPECT BUSTED
As a result of the continuous anti-illegal drug operations being conducted in the Cordillera Region, PROCOR cops burned over P6.2-M worth of Marijuana Plants and confiscated over P9-K worth of shabu during a week-long intensified anti-illegal drugs operations conducted from May 21–27, 2023.
Citing the records from the Regional Operations Division (ROD), the Marijuana Eradication operations conducted in the province of Benguet resulted in the discovery of a total of 690 pieces of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) and 51, 000 grams of Dried Marijuana Fruiting Tops, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 6, 258, 382.00. These were all burned after documentation, and a follow-up operation is being conducted to identify cultivators.
Meanwhile, a separate anti-illegal drugs operation conducted in Baguio City, resulted in the arrest of a suspect identified as Aldy Belaro Pinolgan, 22, after he sold a total of 1.35 grams of shabu with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 9,180.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
The arrested suspect is now facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PROCOR-PIO / File photos)
