P15M worth of Marijuana torched in Kalinga

With the success of “OPLAN HERODOTUS 2” that resulted in the discovery and destruction of more than half-billion worth of marijuana plants and products, another marijuana eradication operation was conducted by PROCOR Cops and PDEA-CAR in the mountains of Kalinga.

Dubbed as “OPLAN MARITES”, the operation resulted in the discovery and destruction of Php 15,000,000.00 worth of marijuana plants in Kalinga on March 11-12, 2022.

According to the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, eight plantation sites were raided by the operatives in Brgy. Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

The operatives uprooted and burned a total of 75,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) from eight marijuana plantation sites with an estimated land area of 7,150 square meters with a suggested drug price (SDP) of Php 15,000,000.00.

All marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed on-site. No cultivators were apprehended during the operation, however, an investigation is ongoing to identify the possible cultivators. (PROCOR-PIO)
