OVER P6.4M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED; FOUR DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED

PRO Cordillera’s intensified anti-illegal drugs efforts continue to gain ground following the seizure of a total of Php6,461,600.00 worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of four drug personalities in separate operations conducted in the province of Ifugao and Benguet on December 13 to 14, 2023.
Citing the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the arrested suspects were identified as Munib G. Boransing, 26 y/o; Faisolah D. Mangking, 29 y/o; Christopher L. Bacani, 22y/o; and Monjewel S. Santos, 19y/o, all residents of Poblacion, Cabanatuan City.
The same report disclosed that Joint operatives of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (PPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Ifugao, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 14, 1501st Maneuver Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Kalinga PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), arrested the suspects after they sold two plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 12 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 81, 600.00 to a police operative who acted as poseur buyer.
During their arrest, operatives also recovered from the suspects’ possession 17 bricks of dried marijuana leaves weighing MOL 17 kilograms with an SDP of Php2,040,000.00 and 10 pieces of elongated form of suspected dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops weighing MOL 10 kilograms with an SDP of Php1,200,000.00.
The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of Lamut Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition, while the suspects will be facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, in separate marijuana eradication operations, a total of 15,500 pcs of Fully-Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with an overall SDP of Php3,100,000.00 and 1,000 pcs of Marijuana Seedlings with an SDP of Php40,000.00 were discovered in Bakun and Kibungan, Benguet.
It was documented, uprooted, and burned onsite by joint operatives of Benguet PPO, RIU-14, PDEA-CAR, and Regional Intelligence Division, while a few samples were taken for submission to the RFU-Cordillera for Qualitative Test. (PRO CORDILLERA PIO /File Photos)
