OVER P248-K SHABU SEIZED; THREE DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED
A total of Php 248,717.48 worth of suspected shabu was seized from three (3) drug personalities who were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the province of Benguet on August 25, 2023.
Based on the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR., the arrested suspects were identified as Myler Ballosong, 31 years old; Dave Wag-e, 37 years old; and Myra Bugtong, 27 years old.
In Buguias, suspect Ballosong was arrested by joint operatives of Buguias Municipal Police Station (MPS), 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Regional Intelligence Unit-14 (RIU-14), after a search warrant was implemented at the suspect’s residence.
According to Buguias MPS, operatives seized three (3) sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 10.86 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to Php 73,848.00 from the suspect’s possession. An additional six (6) sachets of suspected “shabu” (liquid form) weighing MOL 24.1 ml with SDP amounting to Php 150,933.48, and thirty (30) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected drug residues were confiscated from his residence.
Meanwhile, in Mankayan, an immediate police response resulted in the arrest of Wag-e and Bugtong. According to Mankayan MPS, they immediately launched an operation after receiving a civilian tip-off regarding an ongoing sale of dangerous drugs (shabu) in Brgy. Balili, Mankayan, Benguet.
Operatives confiscated three (3) sachets of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 3.52 grams with an SDP amounting to Php 23, 936.00 and one (1) rolled aluminum foil containing traces of a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu from the said suspects.
The markings and inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by Department of Justice Representatives, Barangay Officials, and Media Representatives.
All the suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought into the custody of their respective arresting units for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violations of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
The Regional Director lauded the operatives involved. “It is worthy to note that we are not putting our guards down as regards illegal drugs. Let’s continue doing our job with passion. Walang imposible kung magkaisa tayo at tulong-tulong sa trabaho”, he said. (PRO CORDILLERA-PIO / File Photos)
