One Day Drug Ops Yield Over P2.4M Worth of Marijuana Plants in Benguet
A total of PhP1,420,000.00 worth of marijuana plants was discovered and burned during a daylong marijuana eradication operation conducted by the Cabalyero cops of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) in Bakun, Benguet, on October 24, 2024.
According to reports from PCOL JOSEPH P BAYONGASAN, the Provincial Director of Benguet PPO, 7,100 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, with a total Standard Drug Price of PhP1,420,000.00 discovered in a 740-square-meter land area in Brgy. Kayapa, Bakun.
The said operation was successful with the joint operatives of Bakun Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Unit-14 of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Land Transport Interdiction Unit of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera Administrative Region.
All discovered marijuana plants were documented, uprooted, and burned onsite, with sufficient samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. Following the successful operation, authorities are conducting follow-up operations to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana in the province.
