Officers of Cordillera Former Rebel’s Organization take their oath in Bontoc, Mountain Province
CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – (May 31, 2021) – Elected officers of the Cordillera Former Rebels (FR) Organization took their oath and were inducted at the Provincial Multipurpose Plaza in Poblacion, Bontoc, Mountain Province on May 28, 2021.
The ceremony was graced by the Provincial Governor, Hon. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., as the guest of honor and speaker and the inducting officer.
He administered the oath taking of the following elected officers of the organization:
– President: James Maitang Biag (Mountain Province)
– Vice President: Marcelino Ibana (Kalinga)
– Secretary: Edna Sibayan (Kalinga)
– Auditor: Jeffrey Esnara (Benguet)
– Treasurer: Agustin Batona (Ifugao)
– PROs: Rogelio Anggaboy (Kalinga)
: Mario Lapa-an (Mountain Province)
: Joni Bumidang (Ifugao)
Also in attendance to witness the ceremony were PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD O LEE, BGEN KRISHNAMURTI A MORTELA and COL SANTIAGO I ENGINCO of the Philippine Army; other provincial and municipal officials of the different municipalities, ELCAC members of Mountain Province and their representatives and the team of Former Rebels from Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain Province.
In his message, Governor Lacwasan encouraged the Former Rebels to support the programs of the government as their organization will serve as focal unit to help persuade those who are still part of the armed struggle to give up the meaningless fight and return back to the folds of law.
To end the program, PBGEN LEE facilitated the giving of tokens and cash assistance to the Former Rebels to aid them in their return to their normal lives. (PROCOR-PIO)
