“No holds barred” tuloy tayo para sa Panagbenga 2023 – Mayor Magalong

BAGUIO CITY – Pormal na inilungsad ang official calendar of activities ng Panagbenga 2023 (Baguio Flower Festival) matapos ang Monday Flag Raising Ceremony sa City Hall ground.
Pinangunahan nina Mayor Benjamin Magalong at Board of Trustee Atty. Mauricio Domogan ang pagpindot ng button para buksan ang calendar of activities saksi ng city officials.
Ang festival ay magsisimula sa Pebrero 1, at magtatapos sa Marso 5, 2023.
Ang pinaka highlight sa festival ay ang Grand Street Dance Parade na nakatakda sa Pebrero 25, 2023 (Sabado) at ang Grand Float Parade naman ay sa Pebrero 26, 2023 (Sunday)
Sa temang, “A Renaissance of Wonder and Beauty” ay para sa muling pagsilang ng mga kababalaghan at kagandahan na ito ang inaasam para sa susunod na taon ng pagdiriwang ng Panagbenga Festival.
Sinabi ni Magalong, “Muli natin iparinig sa buong Baguio, sa buong Cordillera at sa buong bansa ang masiglang tinig ng pagkakaisa, we will again proud the richness of our culture and tradition, the beauty of our environmental wealth and the hospitality that Baguio people can ready offer.
For two year, the pandemic robust of the opportunity to stay this festival we consider this time of the pandemic a time of preparing providing us so called reset button for our tourism industry , it manage to recover not only ironically but also in terms how we manage out tourism industry now,”
“I am proud of everyone who has work tirelessly to make this possible we are successfully managing of cases and we have high vaccination rate, maraming maraming salamat sa lahat na healthcare workers, men and women in uniform, city government and employees, our partners from the private sector and of course to all the citizens of Baguio you are all play a vital role to make a Baguio safe for us this residence and visitors,”
“It will be a reset, on the features of the Panagbenga 2019 will be feature in 2023 Panagbenga and there will be no holds barred, so to speak, in spite the fact we’re going to experience an increasing a Covid-19 cases because of these variants and some variants that are now affecting other countries there will be no let up in our festival this coming 2023 and besides we are also expecting increasing influenza A, Influenza B cases and we have to learn how to limit this viruses, how to limit the sub-variant, kaya GO tayo there will be no hindrance, there will be no obstacles, we will proceed as plan,” pagtatapos ni Magalong
Ayon naman kay Anthony de Leon, chairman ng Pangbenga executive committee, gagawing mas malaki ng BFFFI ang lahat ng aktibidad sa susunod na taon, lalo na ang mga tradisyunal na Panagbenga events, para mas maging kasiya-siya ang mga ito sa mga manonood.
“Katulad ng aming nakaugalian, iimbitahan ng BFFFI ang mga kalahok sa street dancing mula sa lalawigan ng Cordillera upang ipakita rin ang kanilang cultural presentation at maging sa float ay iniimbitahan din namin ang mga malalaking kumpanyang lumahok noon at maging ang Hall of Famers ay lalahok sa float parade,” ani De Leon.
Nabanggit rin ni De Leon na maimbita bilang panauhin sa festival ay sina Ambassador MaryKay Loss Carlson at si Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco. ### Mario Oclaman //FNS
