NICA-RO2 launch “Pilipinas Bayang Banal Movement” in Isabela
CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – With a desire to contribute change and development in the country through spiritual and moral strength, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-Region 2 (NICA-R02) launched the “Pilipinas Bayang Banal Movement” on Mar. 22, 2024, at the University Gymnasium of Isabela State University (ISU) Cauayan Campus.
The activity was led by NICA Deputy Director General for Special Concerns, Abelardo P. Villacorta, and was participated by several religious groups and college students. It was facilitated by the staff of NICA-R02 led by Phlormelinda P. Olet, the regional director.
Villacorta preached his miraculous experiences when he was deployed in Kalinga right after graduation from the Philippine Military Academy in 1983. He recalled how he survived the gunshot that caused a heavy wound on his left leg. He said that after the incident, his faith led him to become a preacher of God’s gospel. “We are all Filipinos kaya kailangan kaisa tayo. Iisa ang bansa natin, iisa lang ang lahi natin, lahing Pilipino. Kaya kailangan magkaisa tayong lahat. Iyon lang pinangarap ko,” Villacorta said.
“Sa paglulunsad ng “Pilipinas Bayang Banal Movement” kailangan natin ang pagmamahal sa ating Diyos. Kailangang maipadama natin at maipakita natin sa pamamagitan ng pagmamahal natin sa ating bansa. Kaya nga tayo maka-Diyos, maka-tao, maka-kalikasan at maka-bansa,” he added.
He said that to be able to live a Christlike life, one should possess the seven degrees of brotherhood: Sincerity, justice, faith, charity, courage, divine love, and Christhood.
The activity also featured the signing of a Declaration of Support by the leaders and members of the religious groups, student leaders and ROTC cadets, and several members of the Philippine Marines. It was concluded with the singing of Ang Bayan Ko while the participants waved the Philippine Flag.# Photo by: Mae Barangan
