NEW IBP-LA UNION CHAPTER BOARD OF OFFICERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE

SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION- The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) La Union Chapter officers for 2023-2025 took their oaths of office before Supreme Court Associate Justice Hon. Samuel H. Gaerlan during the Induction of Officers and Welcome Rites to the new members of the bar and bench held at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union on Friday, July 7.

The new officers are Atty. Ronella M. Balbin-Concepcion, president; Atty. Myra-Diwata Rivera-Caroy, vice president; Atty. Zoe S. Gacod, secretary; Atty. Rodrigo G. Rupinta, treasurer; Atty. Robehogene N. Atud, auditor; Atty. Paolo Gonzalo T. Garcinez, P.R.O.

The Board of Directors are Atty. Reginald M. Nang; Atty. Aileen F. Delizo-Casem; Atty. Felmanda D. Camat; Atty. Algen S. Gomez; Atty. Janette I. Agsaulio; Atty. Eleber G. Jacla, the past president and ex-officio director.

Associate Justice Gaerlan in his speech being the guest of honor and speaker reminded his fellow lawyers of the ethics in the legal practice. “In the context of the rapidly changing ever-dynamic environment, ethics somehow transcends boundaries between the professional and personal realms,” he said.

“On April 11, 2023, the court en banc approved administrative matter No. 22-09-01SC embodied the new Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA). Thereby replacing the 34-year-old code of professional responsibility and paving the way for a more comprehensive, and responsive guide at the conduct of lawyers in their interactions between clients, colleagues, courts, agencies, and society in general,” Gaerlan added.

In line with Gaerlan’s speech, all the attending lawyers renewed their oath under the new CPRA.

Atty. Doroteo Lorenzo B. Aguila, IBP national secretary and Atty. Minerva R. Magtanao-Taguinod, governor of IBP-Northern Luzon graced the said occasion.# Mae Barangan
