New building of HPG to rise in Benguet
To cater the growing demand of its personnel and clients, a new building for the Regional Highway Patrol Unit of Cordillera (RHPU COR) and Benguet Provincial Highway Patrol Unit (PHPT) will now start its construction after a Ground Breaking Ceremony was held in Longlong, La Trinidad, Benguet on September 10, 2022.
The ceremony was graced by the PNP CHIEF, PGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN, who served as the guest of honor and speaker.
Present also at the momentous occasion is the Regional Director of PROCOR, PBGEN MAFELINO ASPERO BAZAR.
The blessing of a time capsule and other construction materials was officiated by REV (FR) PLTCOL L CHY, the Regional Pastoral Officer of PROCOR.
The Benguet State University (BSU) through the Usurpruct Agreement allowed the use of the 265 square meter property for the new building and an additional 1000 square meters for the impounding area of the Highway Patrol Group.
Also, with the help of Congressman Eric Yap of Benguet, the approval of the budget amounting to Php 29,400,000.00 was granted to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), who will implement the project.
Key personalities present in the ceremony were PBGEN CLIFFORD B GAIRANOD, Director of Highway Patrol Group; Hon. Melchor D Diclas, Provincial Governor of Benguet; Eng. Isagani C Cayme of 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) Benguet, Dr. Felipe S Comila, the President of BSU; Mayors of the different municipalities in Benguet; and other PROCOR key officers.
In his message, PGEN AZURIN reiterated to the members of Regional and Provincial Highway Patrol Unit to continue to enforce traffic rules and regulations while consistently demonstrating credibility, professionalism, and discipline.
