New BCPO Chief assures swift police response

Police Col. Francisco Bulwayan, Jr., newly installed Acting City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), assured city residents of another quick and swift response of law enforcers during emergency and other situations that need the assistance of the police.

In his assumption message, Bulwayan stated that the thrust of the Police Regional office (PRO) in the Cordillera on the 5-minute response and unending enforcement of local ordinances will be religiously implemented by the BCPO as the same is aligned with  the programs of PNP chief Police Gen. Rodlofo Azurin, Jr. which are Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan Tungo Sa Kaunlaran and Kasimbayanan or the Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan.

He assumed the post vacated by Police Col. Glen Lonogan who was reassigned as the chief of the personnel and records management division of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera.

The new BCPO official expressed his verdant desire to work with the men and women of Baguio’s finest with the common goal of ensuring the city as the safe place to reside, visit, work and do business.

Prior to his assumption as the BCO Acting City Director, Bulwayan was the chief of the personnel records and management division of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera.

The police official expressed his gratitude to his predecessor, Col. Lonogan, for raising the bar of excellence among the local police force and that he will do his best to replicate the same to sustain its gains in making the city as one of the most peaceful urban centers in the country.

According to him, BCPO will be closely working with the local government and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the strict implementation of the marching orders of higher authorities for the unyielding enforcement of laws, rules and regulations that contribute in making the city peaceful and progressive.

He claimed that it will be challenging to work with the men and women of BCPO and the local government because of the significant achievements of the police organization over the past several years through the stewardship of his predecessor who was instrumental in bringing the local police force to greater heights.

He asserted that whether or not his designation will be for long or short, what is important is that the BCPO will be working for the sustained law and order in the city that will continue to establish the cityโ€™s identity as one of the most peaceful places in the country, especially with the presence of dedicated and hardworking police personnel who could be relied on anytime.

For his part, Lonogan informed Bulwayan that the men and women of BCPO could be relied on anytime because they were molded to be responsible and dedicated police personnel who are willing to work for the protection of the residents and visitors alike. – Dexter A. See
