This is the battle cry of the thousands of Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan supporters or kakamPINKs who held a nationwide simultaneous motorcade on Saturday, October 23.
Organized by Team Leni Robredo (TLR), the official volunteer arm of the Leni Robredo presidential campaign, the nationwide motorcade took inspiration from various grassroots volunteer-initiated motorcades held in towns across the country to show support for Leni Robredo’s brand of leadership.
The barrage of support for Leni Robredo’s presidential bid featured boats in Cebu and in Boracay, bikes in Iloilo, tractors in Tacloban, and extensive motorcade participation in Northern provinces such as Pangasinan, in five different stations in Baguio City among others. The motorcade gathered at least 10,000 vehicles across 50 cities nationwide. Metro Manila alone accounted for at least 2,000 vehicles.
TLR Communications Head Ben Bernabe explained that the nationwide motorcade is the volunteers’ public declaration of their frustration at leaders that are incompetent, corrupt, and out-of-touch to the needs of ordinary Filipinos, especially during the pandemic.
“What started initially as a small motorcade in a small town turned into a national campaign – thanks to volunteers like us who passed on the idea to volunteers through word of mouth,” he added.
Bernabe highlighted the kakamPINK conviction that Leni Robredo is the right person to lead the country in the next six years, citing her no-nonsense approach in governance and has shown her resilience in handling different crisis, such as the calamities and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yung Naga City, example ng kung ano ang pwedeng magawa with good governance,” Bernabe said.
In a bid to embody Robredo’s call for radical love for fellow Filipinos, kakamPINKs also organized urban poor initiatives in Metro Manila such as palugaws and pasopas on the same day. ###
