MusiKalayaan 2023 is the highlight of the 125th Independence Day celebration on June 12

As part of the 125th Independence Day Celebration, the Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP) initiated a free live concert dubbed “MusiKalayaan 2023” held at Malcolm Square, Baguio City, on June 12, 2023.

The activity was attended by PBGEN PATRICK JOSEPH G ALLAN, PROCOR’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA); Hon. Benjamin B Magalong, Mayor of Baguio City; cadets from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA); police officers of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO); personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); the Bureau of Jail and Penology (BJMP); the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) Local Government Unit (LGU) of Baguio City; members of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT)-Baguio Chapter; and other youth volunteers.

As the highlight of the event, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) band, Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Marching Band, BJMP CAR Band, BFP La Trinidad Band, and other local performers serenaded the public and showcased their singing talents, while other groups performed cultural dance.

In his Independence Day message, Mayor Magalong emphasized that independence is a reminder of responsibility and sustainability towards the future and further encouraged the young people to engage in governance and participate in political and decision-making processes.

Also, in his message, PBGEN ALLAN reiterated the importance of honoring the service and sacrifices of our heroes, allowing us to enjoy the freedoms we hold today and the essence of the “Bayanihan Spirit” in the community.

The said activity aims to commemorate the freedom of the country and its people as well as strengthen the Filipino people’s call for unity to preserve the country’s peace and sovereignty while showcasing the local talents of the community. (PROCOR-PIO /File Photos)
