Mayor urges renewed commitment to resilience, sustainability and innovational
“The challenges of the past year, 2023, have tested our resolve but they have revealed the remarkable unity within our community.”
Thus, declared Mayor Benjamin Magalong during flag-raising rites at the City Hall grounds, Jan. 2, the first for this year, attended by local officials and employees led by Rep. Mark Go and Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan.
“Today, let us signify the start not only of a new year but a renewed commitment to innovation, resiliency, sustainability, collaboration, and foremost to inclusivity and good governance,” he stressed.
The Mayor said that Baguio is a combination of diverse voices, each contributing to shared experiences during the past years.
“In 2024, let us focus on working together to address the issues that matter most to all of us: sustainable development, innovation and resilience so that we will produce opportunities for each and every citizen,” he said.
He added: “As we pursue our strategic focus, once again, let me repeat the three focus areas that we will pursue in the next two to three years: innovation, sustainability and resiliency. Let us be reminded that our success is interwoven to the efforts of each and every individual. In unity we find strength, and in collaboration we discover the potential for greatness.”
“May this year be marked by accomplishments that reflect our shared commitment to continue building a better and more livable Baguio city we can all be proud of. Let us embark on this journey together with enthusiasm and determination,” the Mayor said. – Gaby B. Keith
