Mayor issues EO on activities, guidelines for National Flag Days, Independence Day, Fil-Am Friendship Day celebrations

Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued executive order no. 65, series of 2023, setting forth appropriate activities and prescribing guidelines in the conduct of the celebration of the National Flag Days, Independence Day, and Filipino-American Friendship Day in the Summer Capital.
For National Flag Days, celebrated from May 28 to June 12, all government buildings and facilities shall display the Philippine Flag in accordance to applicable laws; the public is enjoined to display the Flag, in accordance to relevant laws, in their buildings and residences or raised in the open on flag-staffs in front of their buildings; a Flag Raising Ceremony (FRC) and program shall take place on May 29, 2023, at 8 am at the Baguio City Hall Flagpole grounds.
There shall be Retirement Rites of worn-out Philippine flags during the FRC and seminar on the Heraldic Code of the Philippines at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center (BCCC) at 9:30 am; and all City Government offices, national government agencies, and the private sector are directed to support and actively participate in the activities of the event.
For Independence Day on June 12, there shall be a program at the BCCC on that day at 8 am and all City Government employees are directed to support and actively participate in the event’s activities; all City Government officials and employees are directed to attend the program where attendance shall be checked by their respective administrative officers; and all National Agencies in the city are enjoined to attend the program.
There shall be a wreath-laying ceremony and program at the bust of Justice George Malcolm on July 4, this year, 8 am, in celebration of Filipino-American Friendship Day followed by a chili cook-off at the same venue after the program.
The executive order directs all City Government employees to support and actively participate in the activities of the one-day celebration. – Gaby B. Keith
