MarSU partakes during the Marinduque joint Tourism and Cultural Arts Council first quarter meeting

Boac, Marinduque – The Marinduque State University faculty members, culture and arts head Asst. Prof. Ruby Ann Lantita and College of Arts and Social Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Randy Nobleza participated with the most recent Tourism with Culture and Arts Council quarterly meeting last March 14 at the Provincial Capitol, Governors Hall.
The main agenda of the said joint quarterly meeting is a review of the most recent activities during the 105th Reestablishment of Marinduque as independent province and several plans for Moryonan 2025. Among the highlights of the 1st quarter Tourism and Cultural Arts Council is the institutionalization of Marinduque Festival of Festivals, Araw ng Marinduque every February 21, relevant Cultural and Arts Studies, moryonan, kalutang and tubongan in particular.
The Marinduque local chief executive Gov. Presbitero Velasco Jr. presided the meeting along with the provincial tourism and cultural office in-charge Sir Rino Labay with legislative support from the Sangguniang Council Culture and Arts chair Antonio Mangcucang III. The Department of Education division office with the provincial Department of Trade Industry expressed their utmost support to the initiatives especially the culture and arts development plan worth P50m earmarked for this year.
Meanwhile, the tourism officers from Boac, Torrijos and Buenavista joined their counterparts in Mogpog, Gasan and Sta. Cruz along with local media from Marinduque News and Philippine Information Agency with the MarSU Information Office. MarSU is gearing up with the April Literature month with a Creative Writing Workshop in support of the lenten week in coordination with the Litera Club and respective branches in Gasan, Sta Cruz and Torrijos. # Randy T.
