LET A THOUSAND FLOWERS BLOOM IN AN OPEN PAINTING EXHIBITION
BAGUIO CITY – (February 12, 2023) – Isa sa mga aktibidad ang itinanghal ng Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio na ginanap sa Football ground, Melvin Jones (Linggo) February 12, na kung saan ay umani ng kasiyahan sa mga bisita at residente ng Baguio may mga patimpalak ng painting exhibition at Panagbenga Kite-flying challenge.
Sinabi ni BFFFI co-chair Anthony de leon, “masayang masaya tayo dahil ang komunidad sa Baguio ay excited sa pagbabalik ng festival at nakikita natin sa participation na talagang full support naman ang community, the local government and the private sector so, everything as far as the success of the event is concern is always good to help collaboration of partnership, ngayon araw na ito, Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio, nakita natin and we are happy na yun Davies Paints full support sila they took care the prizes, they took care the paint, they took care the frames all the materials and yun mga staff nila ay nag – aassist so, that just an example of how they not only the organizer or the community but even the sponsor are very happy to support our event and yun kite-playing natin maalaala natin last year we have about 13 or 14 participants pero ngayon nasa 24 na tayo, maganda naman dahil pinasimulan natin itong Handog ng Panagbenga its more fun and this is a family day for local community and we have these event dediacated to residents of Baguio,”
“Sa painting naman they come and go, open participation hindi na kailangan ng pre-registration, hindi na kailangan ang fee so, kung sino man ang interested whether individual, adult, kid, family yan ang mga categories it’s a whole day affair, the competition for let a thousand bloom artwork is as good as the number of frames we have available, and then as a tradition ay maisasama natin ito sa street dancing parade. ani de Leon.
Halos lahat ng participants na ating nakapanayam kung ano ang mga ibig sabihin o kahulugan ng kanilang mga ipininta ay ito raw ay ayon sa pagdiriwang ng pasasalamat para sa Inang Kalikasan na sumasalamin sa kasaysayan, tradisyon, at kahalagahan ng Baguio at ng Cordillera.
Nauukol rin dito sa mga naipinta ay yaong panahon ng pamumulaklak tuwing buwan ng Pebrero at ang mga imahe ng ilang Indigenous People (IP’s) sa lupain ng mga ninuno na kung saan ito ay hindi lamang isang tahanan kundi ito ay maituturing rin na kanilang kaligtasan, ayon sa isang artist na nagpahayag ng kanyang obra.
May mga pamilya rin na nalibang sa kanilang mga anak ng ipinta kung ano ang kanilang imahinasyon tungkol sa iba’t-ibang klaseng bulaklak habang pinapanood ng kanilang magulang.
Sa panayam kay Ms. Jo Ann C. Virina, Marketing Communication Manager ng Davies Paints Philippines, Inc. “In this event of Let a thousand flowers bloom so, with that we also team up the painting competition which is called the art of blooming, we created 3 categories: professional, amateur, and then family. A group or 3 or more pwede mag compete as a group rin sila.
“We will be choosing 3 winners and then it will be announced during the closing on March 5 I think.
“This is the first time that we sponsoring the event, but we’ve been supporting Baguio in terms of mga creative execution sa mga murals, we provide paints to Silvino, Pasakalye, Tam-awan and sila Vena so we almost know all artists here in Baguio,”
“We are so very happy na muling natuloy natin at so successful at just a few days lang namin ito na announce at ang ganda ng response ng mga tao, its just mean na excited rin sila to do express their art,”
“More than enough paints for this activity, what so special activity right now we created kasi customize paints for Baguio alone so, we created colors of Baguio, we created 12 colors customized paints meron kaming Ube Purple, Atok High Blue, Cabbage Purple, Berry Red, Lettuce Green, Highland Green, Burnham Brown, Cloud Gray, Baguio Fog, Mountain Rock, Igorot Stone at Sunflower Yellow na itong mga kulay mismo ang ginagamit ng mga participants sa kanilang pagpipinta,”
“The colors of Baguio are actually part of a bigger colors selection which is colors of the Philippines, we created mga inspiration namin is a destination so we have colors of Bicol, colors of Bacolod, colors of Banaue at lahat ng mga tourist spots na kung anong places ang may mga inspiration or significance,”
