La Trinidad, Benguet – (July 24, 2022) – The La Trinidad Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) was still ongoing the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) for the month of July 2022 with the theme,”Sambayanang Pilipino, Nagkakaisa tungo sa Katatagan at Maunlad na Kinabukasan, who led by Mayor Romeo K. Salda and Vice-Mayor Roderick C. Awingan since from the start of kick-off last July 1 they encourage everybody to be one with the entire nation in the observance of NDRM.
The NDRM 2022 theme emphasizes the importance of collaboration of all Filipinos to overcome the challenges of this pandemic and preparedness for new emerging disasters toward building a safer, adaptive, and resilient future.
They conduct Water Rescue Training for MDRRMC Response Cluster Members and River Crossing. Assisting Ambiong BDRRMC responders in their Rescue Training.
Mayor Salda discussed the next steps to further strengthen partnership, especially with the Australian Volunteer Program and DRRM were the last time visit of the representative of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
On July 14, the Mayor convened the MDRRMC Response Cluster Leaders and conducted a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) as a proactive measure for the Upcoming Rainy Season.
Everyone is encouraged to do assessments too, at home and at work, to ensure preparedness for the rainy season.
On July 16, the Mayor attended the launching of the Serbisyo Para sa Bayan Program of PTV Cordillera, City Government of Baguio, and OCD-CAR at the Baguio Convention Center, with response equipment exhibit by the MDRRM Office and ACDVs. The program also commemorates the July 16, 1990 earthquake and the signing of the Declaration of Commitment.
They conduct also the exercise for Capacity Development of our Water Safety and Rescue Trainings Facilitators with assistance from the Philippine Life Saving Organization.
For Day 1, the Water Safety Training for Differently Abled Person in coordination with the MSWDO.
And Orientation on First Aid for KKDAT, in partnership with the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for the National Disaster Resilience Month and Police Community Relations Month.

Awarding winners will be on July 26, 2022 Poster Making Contest for Youth, SK La Trinidad for National Disaster Resilience Month Digital Poster Making!
July 27, 2022, Drowning Symposium will be the next activity to be held at Municipal Gymnasium, Km. 5 Pico, La Trinidad, and on July 29 DRRM for Kids activity to be held also at the Municipality Gym.
La Trinidad Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), La Trinidad DRRMC’s capability in disaster response, to its 16 barangays and extending its services to other parts of the country during disasters and calamities.
In an interview to Mayor Salda, ”We still need to update our Search and Rescue equipment because some are already old lalo na yun mga drone, we have seen a drone I think it is very important for us especially on the rescue operation and of course the assessment of damages, maganda yun kahit wala ka sa site kung naron ang drone at kung biglaan in case yun malakas na ulan we came already inform the stakeholders na mag evacuate na sila dun sa kanilang lugar, ito ang mga kagamitan na gusto namin magkaroon para ma high tech rin ang magamit namin sa DRRM and of course we have personnel who have trained, continuous naman ang training natin especially one of our activity is Barangay training for disaster at king College on July 26,
Kailangan muna namin mapag usapan ang tungkol sa budget ng mga SAR equipments I identified muna namin kung ano ang mga kailangan na gagamitin especially itong paghahanda sa typhoon.
