La Trinidad BPATS and KKDAT conclude 2-day Training on Emergency First Aid and Basic Ropemanship and Rappelling
La Trinidad, Benguet – (July 24, 2022) – In line with the programs on the celebration of the 27th PCR Month, the La Trinidad Municipal Station headed by PLTCOL RODELIO D OLSIM Chief of Police, holds 2-Day Training on Emergency Training and Basic Ropemanship and Rappelling attended by 60 participants in partnership with La Trinidad-LGU, La Trinidad DRRMO, and La Trinidad Fire Station.
Anchored on the theme, “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan,” the La Trinidad MPS sought to empower force multipliers and the youths through skills training, instill among them the spirit of volunteerism, hone their capabilities and train them into active partners of government forces in its public emergency response services. The training also offers lifesaving techniques that can be used for employment and day-to-day emergencies.
The La Trinidad Disaster Risk Reduction Management office shares its skills and expertise in Emergency First Aid on its first day of training. The participants completed a series of lectures, demonstrations, and performances on the application of splints, spine board management, and usage of triangular bandages in first aid.
Moreover, the La Trinidad Fire Station personnel facilitated the lecture on basic Ropemanship for rescue operations, and also, allowed the participants to experience and learn rappelling techniques.
The La Trinidad police force remains steadfast in its commitment to public service towards peace and development and sustains its community training and capacity building to strengthen public knowledge and skills for inclusive development. It is also an avenue to build up strong, solid, and effective interaction between the police force and the populace for a progressive and resilient locality.
The 2-Day Training, which commenced with a short program on July 21 was made possible through the unwavering support of La Trinidad –LGU headed by Hon. Romeo K Salda, Mayor, La Trinidad Fire Station, LA Trinidad Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, MAGPTD members, BPAT members from 16 barangays and KKDAT. Special recognition and appreciation were also credited to King’s College of the Philippines and its facilities utilized for the training venue. -NST-
